What is the Aetheria Project exactly?

The Aetheria project is an attempt at recreating the fantasy world of the Minecraft server Aetheria, in the book series Diary of an 8-Bit Warrior, by Cube Kid. The game will be extremely similar to Minecraft, but overall, much is changed. There will be no copyright issues because all textures and assets used will be either be public domain or created from scratch. The game currently has no ETA for a release, and we currently have no need for playtesters, so don't ask.

We plan support for community servers and official servers. Eventually official game modding support might be added, but this is not promised. Remember, this game is not a full sandbox. It will be similar to Skyrim and Minecraft alike. A sandbox RPG, you can say.

What can I do to help?

Positions are always changing, so they won't be listed here. If you want to assist, please join our Discord and apply there. There are positions for programmers, artists, storytellers*, general-purpose game mechanic designers, music designers, and animators.

*Must have read the entirety of the Diary of an 8-Bit Villager series and the entirety of the Tales of an 8-Bit Kitten series.
